- 3 Roma Tomatoes
- 2 Cloves Garlic
- ½ White Onion
- ¼ cup Cilantro
- 2 teaspoon Salt
- ½ teaspoon Pepper
- 1 teaspoon Cumin
- 1 teaspoon Chili Powder
- Juice of ½ Lemon
Garnish
- Red Onion (chopped)
- Fresh Cilantro (chopped)
Brisket
- 1 Pound Crossbuck BBQ Chopped Central Texas Style Brisket (Delivered nationwide in convenient vacuum-sealed 1 lb. bags.)
Tortillas
- The brisket is the star of this show...so feel free to buy whatever type of tortillas you like best.
Instructions
To make the salsa:
- Dice all ingredients into medium-sized dice.
- Place the ingredients into a blender and puree to desired thickness. We are looking for a relatively smooth sauce with some chunks still visible. Slightly more body than a traditional tomato sauce.
- Pour the ingredients into a small sauce pot and place on a burner at high heat.
- Bring to a quick boil and turn the heat down to a simmer. Allow to cook for 7 – 10 minutes.
- Allow salsa to cool to the desired temp prior to serving.
To heat the Chopped Brisket:
- Crossbuck's Texas style smoked chopped brisket comes in oven-safe vacuum-sealed bags. Simply place them in a baking dish and heat.
Serving Suggestions
Heat some flour or corn tortillas. Three per person is just about right. Place about 1/8 of a pound of chopped brisket in each shell and top with salsa, sliced onion, and cilantro.
